Novell and IBM are launching a program “designed to accelerate the development and certification of ISV applications for SuSE Linux on the IBM eServer and middleware platforms.” “As part of this initiative, Novell Inc. will provide those ISVs interested in the program with copies of SuSE Linux Enterprise Server and supporting documentation. The company will also facilitate onsite registration for Novell’s Technology Partner Program to help ISVs certify their applications on SuSE Linux for both IBM hardware and middleware. “
So these companies are saying, come on down developers, here is your chance to make money, and yet this thread has no comments on it.
ISV means independent software vendor.

Sad isnt’ it?. IBM and Novell getting no respect. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if commercial/proprietary ISVs hesitate to support Linux after the toasting Nero got for NeroLinux (pun intended). ISVs are going to use the old Jerry Maguire line: Show me the money. Can IBM and Novell actually show huge revenue streams from Joe Linux Users?
They make money by selling their product lines and they have a sophisticated program for ISV’s. Nero is a piss in the bucket compared to this.
