Make scripting for load/saving against the various binary files _really_ easy. Show me some Python. I know there are some tools, (I’ve even hacked a bit myself), but I really want to see sponsored goodies downloadable (sponsored on?) your site.
You are missing a word-of-mouth marketing goldmine. Bad onya. Dig my Treo 600, though: thanks.
So because Symbian has 5 flavors (Series 60, Series 80, Series 90, UIQ, EPOC) it’s not Symbian?
So Microsoft shouldn’t change it’s windows OS ? oops, we’ll just scrap the data centers, various server editions, CE, mobile, smartphone….
Palm already has the base, they need to diversify. It is more important for palmsource now to diversify and get out there and make money selling operating systems rather than worry about “is it a traditional palm” Palm inc and Palmsource are two different things, each has to fend for its own.
Personally I am not excited by advanced smartphones; I prefer to have a PDA and a small simple mobile phone. This new offer from Palm could be exactly what I need, as the only thing I really miss from my phone is the ability to use the address list from my Palm device. So I would probably buy one…
When shopping for my first-ever cell phone I briefly browsed the PDA/Phone choices. It was disappointing to see such outdated technology mated together for such premium prices. Instead I bought a phone and high-end PDA seperately, getting much better equipment while saving hundreds of $$.

I want the real PalmOS 6, and I want it this year.
But at least the second mentioned system is Linux-based, which is not too bad, compared to what else there is (Symbian, Windows).
People could always adapt/improve it and patch security holes.
i can see where this tranistion is necessary but wow Palm’s product has just become extremely fragmented and complex.
In any case, a palm feature phone with fast tap from digit wireless would be ideal.

Funny how this news item I was looking at http://www.palminfocenter.com/view_story.asp?ID=7671

I wanted to use the address list from my Palm on my phone, too. So I got a bluetooth phone.
I actually pretty happy about this too. The GUIs on most feature phones are horrible. It would be nice to have one with palm OS.
