Jaluna has partnered with Accelerated Technology, a division of Mentor Graphics, on a combined Nucleus/Linux offering that the companies claim allows real-time Nucleus applications to run side-by-side with Linux applications on the same system, without additional hardware, and without requiring changes to the applications.
i dont understand very well the idea of Jaluna. ok, i am not very interested in embedded systems. just want to know if i can run many instances of OS (like linux, bsd) on top of this OSWare? so is that like VMWare?
i came to Jaluna homepage, and saw nowhere to get the software. but they said that OSWare is open source, so where to get it???
thanks
I never heard of these people before. Are they new?
Whre do you have the info, that its OpenSource?
Jp: so is that like VMWare?
Jaluna’s “OSware” technology — sometimes called the VMware of embedded. It does the same thing as VMWare but for embedded systems, for desktops use VMWare or perhaps Qemu.

Which one, Jaluna is a spin-of from Sun, guess some of the people are known for people who have been folowing sun/java.
Mentor Graphics are THE firm for electronics design software, schematics, PCBs, ASICs, VLSI and RF. You name it they have the tools, and price to match:-) Don’t be surprised if 50%or more of the electronics in your PC have been made by tools from Mentor.
From what I remember, Jaluna is a spin-off of Sun Microsystems’ operating system named Chorus, which was an embedded microkernel. The Chorus code was made open-source and I think you can still find it on Sun’s website.
This concept which they are working on seems alot like an expansion of the jail project from BSD or the User-mode Linux project. Its an OS ontop of another OS.
<From what I remember, Jaluna is a spin-off of Sun Microsystems’ operating system named Chorus,>
Prior to that, Chorus OS was property of Chorus Inc, a Startup involved in Telco business.
