LynuxWorks today introduced a PowerPC version of User-Mode Linux (UML) based on the latest Linux 2.6 kernel and available for PowerPC G5. LynuxWorks’ UML software will run on a LynuxWorks’ BlueCat Linux host, providing a stable Linux 2.6 virtual machine environment for a PowerPC platform.
I worked there back in 2000 (as the webmaster).
if they add this to the DARWIN kernel so the majority of the G5 owners can run it…..
How useful is this going be since there aren’t that many ppc distros (btw i am a ppc user)?
if they add this to the Windows kernel, so the majority of PC users can run it…
my point: Port it yourself (or pay someon to do it) if you want it to run on Darwin! (it has already been ported to [/i]Windows[/i], so it is doable to port it to a no-linux OS) Just dont expect that peoples motives always are to give away software to most people possible (a buisness will try to make money, and a FLOSS zealot will try to convert people to a OS that 99% of the users dont depend on a unfree layer)
