The guys at Novell have released a rather interesting article which helps businesses know whether they’re ready to make the switch to Linux. It gives some steps to analyzing, evaluating, creating a road map, and putting a plan together when enterprises consider the switch.
Very intresting read. Novell really puts some effort on pushing Linux to new env. 🙂
What is that?
Sensors detect a Class 5 Linux, sir, heading straight for us.
Shields up, red alert!
*eerr! eerr!*
Not bad stuff from Novell, but they really need to be doing a lot of this for their customers, such as choosing applications they can use. They need to come up with a TCO study, and tell organisations just how much they could be saving. Start with small businesses and work upwards gradually.
One thing you don’t say is “It isn’t for everyone”, even if it isn’t. They also need to circulate this to relevant organisations and cheese off a few Microsoft Channel Partners.
Windows isn’t for everyone either. NOTHING is for everyone.

”
how would that be any different from the silly Microsoft get the facts campaign with their funded tco studies quoted selectively?
>>how would that be any different from the silly Microsoft get >>the facts campaign with their funded tco studies quoted >>selectively?
Why should it be different? It is called marketing. So what. Novell Linux is open source, not free software. Got it.

no. its not called marketing. its called panicking and lying. we dont need Novell to mimic Microsoft. I dont care whether its called open source or free of Free software.
Which company doesnt try to make money? You just put out the good points you think your product has. So Novell is now a saint. Wowwwwwwwww. Just because is in the open source side. Netware did some sh… things before.
So Novell is now a saint. Wowwwwwwwww.
Noone said that Novell is saint. I just said this paper is a good read and that they are trying hard to do buissness using Linux. If MS/RH/Sun/Bunch of Geeks would write a good paper on something, I’d say same thing. Have your read this paper, or just went here and post?

My comments were not directed to you. Sorry you took it personal. Yes, I did read the paper.

This was the reason for my post. Novell will fight Microsoft. Now they using Linux. If they win (yeah right), the next target will be even another Linux product. That is bussiness. They lost one time. They came back now, using what we like the most: Linux. But dont confuse yourself. The enemy of your enemy is your friend, as long as you have an enemy. Think about it.
Isn’t time this guy was banned, Aaron Abramson of 735th Ave, Dassel, Minnesota is it? not Rayiner Hashem obviously. BTW has anyone informed Rayiner, and all the other people whose names and email addresses he has been using, what he has been up to?

Probably not, I was a little eager, whoever this guy using ourhostingserver.com/utaria is, he’s really p’ing me off. Anyway I’m not going to feed him anymore. Perhaps it is time OSNews implemented a free mandatory membership system.
