I would like to announce the arrival of a newsletter for the ReactOS operating system. It covers and summarizes the activities on IRC, the mailing lists, and CVS. Splash will come out on a roughly bi-weekly basis, sometimes weekly.

Hopefully this will be updated more frequently than the Reactos.com site…
A lot of OSS projects neglect to tell you whats going on. Haikus CVS list is about as good as it gets – their last newsletter was in the Spring.
I agree, this is excelent. I’m a fan of WINE’s newsletters, and this just increases my newsletter whoring by 1
Its nice to see a newsletter being issued by ReactOS. I have always been curious and this newsletter will feed my curiosity. I see this newsletter getting better with time. All in all its a pretty good first release.
Keep up the good work.
Do they mean bi-monthly or more correctly fortnightly? Twice a week does not seem possible.
Bi-weekly to me is 14 days
I Think, the dispute with Ekush, what the Splash author mentioned, do no longer exists.

Nope, the Ekush issue is not resolved yet. Nobody on the ReactOS mailing list was informed that Ekush source will be >>merged<< back in and most are against it anyway. Ekush was dishonest in the passed about where they got their source from and many fear that the Ekush source may be contaminated.
It would be nice if I could edit my posts on OSNews after I’ve posted. I see that I wrote passed instead of past in my previous post and can’t fix it.
>>>Ekush was dishonest in the passed about where they got their source from and many fear that the Ekush source may be contaminated.
Actually it’s the other way around as well.
Note that in the ekush notice that they mentioned that they are removing “ALL THE NON-GPL’D CODE” from their ekush source tree.
But I think that it’s too late — ekush already contaminated their own proprietary codes with GPL stuff — and therefore ekush has to publish their own proprietary codes under GPL as well.
I’m just echoing the sentiment of the ReactOS dev mailing list, but I wouldn’t trust Ekush NOW either. Germans say >>You can’t trust a liar, even if he says the truth<< and it fits here superbly.
yet another list to add to my gmail account!

NO. this is FUD.
Real men don’t get newsletters. They subscribe to the developer list.
Just kidding. This is great
I see you’ve also chosen a secret, new identity?
