The long awaited SkyOS 3.7 is now released, in a beta form. The new version includes a new networking stack, a media player and more. You can download the 7 MB archive and make sure you send feedback back to Robert if you encounter bugs. Update: A newer, fixed version was uploaded today.
Anyone else had the problem where the OS boots ok but it can’t find the rest of its files in the FAT16 partition to load the rest of itself?
Yep. I had the same problems.
And further more my MBR was destroyed and occupied by GRUB!
I fixed it this way by burning the content of the zip file on a cd. Then I booted from floppy and entered /bootdevice=/dev/cd2 as kernel parameter and it
worked.
/dev/cd2 – master cdrom on 2nd controller channel
I can’t get it to boot. It trys to but says “SkyOS V3….boot file not found.” I havn’t been able to figure this one out.
Whats the purpose of skyOS? Whats the main selling point?
