I don’t subscribe to the mailinglist, so I ocassionally visit their website to see what’s going on with the project but they don’t seem to update their diary very often. I wish they’d update it for those passer-by’s that don’t subscribe to the mailinglists.

You don’t need to subscribe, you can just go to the mailing list archive. For the moment, it’s not nearly the mess that you’d find in the older projects, and is for the most part quite readable.
Interesting issue, but why september’s only ?
I believe its simply a matter of getting people to submit articles. If they don’t have enough articles the issues is delayed.
