I’ll try to be there! Cool!
is it still just beta? ..
yes. Hyperion is supposedly preparing an update to the pre-release of AmigaOS4 for this month for more BETA testing.
I was interested to read about Sony using the pegasos board for their MySQL server on that site. I have thought about doing similar here. Not just for the cooling and remote serial console but also for any future virii that may be released for Linux. It is unlikely that any linux virus binary would be compiled for PowerPC.
even I know a dude that’ll attend, and he’s not even in Tampere! Looks like it will be a succesful happening, even though it’s in Finland, in Tampere of all places!
Has anyone every seen an Amiga OS matrix which graphicaly explains the history and potential future of all of these diverse projects?
Ijust cannot make order out Amiga caos.

“I just cannot make order out Amiga chaos.”
It is no more complex than Unix chaos. Even Windows now has lots of versions.
By the time this os4 does come out will enough actually buy it? The Amiga hardware required is over priced and out of date, and by the time this much delayed OS is finally out i am sure some bright spark will have a emulator that will run the OS at a good speed on the much more power and more updated hardware of Intel and Amd CPU machines.
Only die hard amiga owners who remember with rose tinted glasses the machine in the 80’s are going to buy this and in my view that’s not enough people to keep this afloat. You may be lucky and get OS4, but it will end there and fade and I bet that in 2 years time it will be the normal ramblings and blame at why the amiga failed to rise yet again. I had the 80’s amiga’s and they were awesome. But that was back then and from what I have seen of the new OS4, it looks so dated and plain.. Should have left it as good memories.
@Graz
You are very much mistaken. The amiga hardware is over priced yes but its new hardware so what do you expect and hey amiga has always been that little bit more expensive. As a user of the OS myself I can safely say that as soon as the MicroA1C (ITX based amiga motherboard) comes out I will sell all my pc and be a full time amigan again.
why? because te operating system is so responsive the JIT emulation allows me to use all the software i did with my classic 68K amigas and I can fit the OS on a usb drive and take it with me anywhere.
Please do not criticise the Amiga until you have tried it you may think the hardware is out of date but the OS uses 99.9% of all the hardwrae resources as apposed to windows or linux which makes it 100 times better
