according to “havoc” (mr Havoc Pennington i presume) “user interfaces should be monolithic and hard coded” and “modular interaction design sucks”. why is this really? i didn’t get his point there about the system try mess etc…
I think Havoc meant that there should be one person in charge of the whole UI. ie, don’t let individual programmers plug their stuff in whereever they please and hope the result looks good; it has to be managed by a ‘director’.
And also, that UIs should be arranged according to common tasks users want to perform, rather than organised logically, as a programmer might have it.
