Microsoft says its set of upgrades for Windows Server 2003, due to be included in Service Pack 1, will make its products more secure by default and give enterprises more options for locking down servers.
And then it ends up being worse than previously … piece o’ crap !
“….will make its products more secure by default and give enterprises more options for locking down servers.”
Ummmm….Isn’t this how it should have been when Miscrosoft released it?
“Ummmm….Isn’t this how it should have been when Microsoft released it?”
Indeed, that is exactly what should have been.
Being totally embarassed by a never ending string of bugs/issues/shortcomings has to be getting very old in Redmond.
With Linux attempting to gain traction, the current flood of negative MS press, and a lot of Microsoft programmers and project managers with their asses on the line. I fully expect we will be seeing some serious changes in the way MS does things in the future; as well as correcting SOME of issues with 2000/XP/2003. A bit of competition will greatly affect the quality of what you see from Microsoft.
Why do Topics that have Windows in them, Bring out all the Linux and *Nix Fans that have nothing better to do with their time, then post comments about how their OS is much better then Windows.
Windows has Faults YES, Linux has Faults too, and so does free Bsd and all the other Nix.
At least we all agree that any service Pack is usually over due. Persoanally think of it this way, Why do software vendors release different builds of their software… Give up?
To Fix Bugs.
I figure I’ll get modded down, but hey, at least i’m not biast when it comes to OS’s. I have an opinion, but not saying My OS is better then yours.
Remember if you have nothing interesting to contribute, Please don’t post..
Thank you.

Is it possible that Microsoft has been planning all their actions, releases and fallbacks all these years just to win back a huge amount of sales in the future?
Think about it this way, Microsoft is still making huge profit every year they continuously release products that minimally improve on previous versions but still manage to sell for increased prices every year.
Now all these OS’s and products have had large amounts of flaws and holes. People still purchase it and others are skeptical and wait. If Microsoft in the future (IE Longhorn) could release an OS that would fix most of it’s predecessors “problems” they’d make a killing on sales for that product release. The skeptical and the usual customers would all be buying.
Is it possible Microsoft has been releasing flawed products so that they could make a Messiah OS just for profit reasons?
Microsoft says:
1994:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
1995:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
1996:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
1997:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
1998:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
1999:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
2000:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
2001:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
2002:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
2003:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
2004:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever
2005:we are working on the most stable, secure os’s ever

Okay, everyone who believes them, raise your hand !!
“Is it possible Microsoft has been releasing flawed products so that they could make a Messiah OS just for profit reasons?”
Nearly anything is possible. This one however would be a stretch for even the wildest of imaginations.
If Microsoft has proven nothing else over the years they have proven to everyone their ability to survive and profit.
They have done that regardless of everyone else, and in spite of themselves.
Here’s another longshot: They could release the super top secret existing Messiah OS, then give the damn thing away for free just to watch Novell,IBM, the rest of the pack bleed to death.
Likely to happen: When pigs fly.
From now on NICs will stop working espontaneously leaving the machine effectively locked.
Lest we forget about MS DOS? No remove root exploits in over 20 years, that’s a hell of a lot better than even OpenBSD’s record.

Nice Troll Dumbass. How the fsck can you have a remote exploit for a ‘OS’ that didn’t support anything (Networking, *), except maybe reading a FAT drive.
