Although i already read it when i was on WineHQ.org in the morning, it is a very interesting article to read. Especially the Samba-TNG stuff was quite refreshing. The masterplan is to implement that in ReactOS
If they can get that done, maybe next thing to do is get an X server ported, to be seamless in the ReactOS environment, then we could establish remote connections to our *Nix boxes.
Cygwin comes with a bunch of Free software packages ready to install. Also includes X server, SSH (thus SSH over X is possible). If cygwin1.dll can be ported, and work starts on the other packages, that would be great. But i think that’s rather a temporary, ugly hack.
SSH, NFS, X is native are actually nice parts Windows by default lacks so it gives an edge i’d say.
Anyway, which X server would you suggest? There are quite a few proprietary ones available for Windows.
Also, Windows Services for UNIX is now a free download from Microsoft. It is a UNIX-like subsystem based on OpenBSD that runs on server flavours of Windows. In principle it should run on ReactOS.

This OS could be really great for businesses.

I don’t know which X server, I am not an expert. But it would be nice to have the capability.
Proprietary is not free, so that is not an option for such a system. They could be support though.
