I have read the description of the bug fixes and I can’t help wonder why is it that well paid people (I presume) keep releasing products that even a high school student would be ashamed of. For instance, let’s take this one :
“Suspend/Resume:
After resuming from suspend, you no longer see a black screen.
This update fixes several video errors that occur after resuming from standby.”
Didn’t anybody catch that bummer before rushing the product through the door ? It bothers me because this is the kind of stuff that pops up during the tests, which apparently weren’t conducted properly.
I completely agree. I had a client who made to mistake of buying a top of the line hp media center PC. It was a F—ing nightmare. It came with media center 2002 and we upgraded it to mce2004. The computer was unusable. It basically felt like an alpha level prototype poduct. Basically if you want good multimedia or tivo like fuctions in a PC, buy a regular PC with an ATI all in wonder. While the AIW software has its problems at least it is several generations in development and has most of its bugs worked out.
Imagine buying a car like that.
brrr……..

Microsoft’s headache’s are bad enough in the office.
Why would you invite them into your living room?
