From MacMinute: Apple today released security updates for both Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar).According to the release notes, Security Update 2004-04-05 for Panther delivers a number of security enhancements and includes updated versions of CUPS Printing, libxml2, Mail, and OpenSSL. Security Update 2004-04-05 for Jaguar includes an updated CUPS Printing component, as well as all the improvements found in Security Update 2004-01-26.
I guess I am on the bleeding edge. I usually wait before I update. I hope Active Directory connectivity is improved as well as LDAP.
Nice that Apple is now releasing these for Jag and Panther at the same time.
Yeap, which has left this forum rather empty. Normally there is this big influx of the great unwashed and poor complaining about how Apple tries to rip them off and how they can’t even afford a low end $799 eMac.
fraeone you just had to! At least we got it out early, perhaps that is the key.
I like how the Apple updates are in one package. I just updated my Virtual W2K system, and it took 4 reboots and about 30 patches.
BTW, no problems with the updates! YAY!
Let’s hope they fix some time soon the wobbly airport/dhcp reconnection after sleep as well as the smb share browsing
that is not just with airport….
I have a hard line connection to my network and it some times does not reconnect after sleep.
I submitted a bug report on it, so hopefully it will get fixed soon….until then, I just shut it off, or disconnect from the network before I put it to sleep.
but at least this machine does not crash while it is sleeping like my Windows laptop did….oh well, nothing is perfect.
To the previous two posters:
Your computer disconnects from the network during sleep becuase of the hard drive spin down. If you disconnect the “Put hard drives to sleep box” in System Preference this shoudl fix the problem.
umm…I want the hard drive to spin down…. the problem does not happen through normal spin down of the hard-drive… the problem happens when the system is put to sleep.
either way, it is a problem that needs to get fixed.
