LOL. I thought they had released a bunch already. Hmm there was 3283, 4009, 4015, 4029, 4051, 4053… I’ve played around with a few and they aren’t that interesting. I was really interested in new Longhorn developments, but now I’m way more interested in Novell/SUSE developments. Can’t wait for SUSE 9.1!
It was just me or someone else thought that Microsoft would enter the Alpha (processor) arena again?
They were Beta’s.
I guess you really have far too much time on your hands if you play with things your not interested in!
Were they really betas? I thought they were just developer builds. Doesn’t it go build 8883 -> build 8884 -> …. -> build 113,4881 -> … -> alphas -> betas -> release candidates -> release?
“Hypocrisy is people making fun of “M$”…for instance, making fun of IIS, when according to GLSA”
Or you might say hypocrisy is charging the highest amount for your desktop operating system, despite the fact that it has its share of bugs and is an expressway for worms and malware, all the while keeping in mind that closed source is supposedly more secure because it’s closed source knowing full well, it’s really not.
Hypocrisy is also complaining about trolls, while trolling yourself.
OK you got me
Doesn’t change the fact that the initial point is worthless though.
I hope that WinFS is more complete in this “alpha” (I want to make my own items and extensions dammit), and that it includes the desktop compositor (so we can get a real idea of what Aero will be like, even if the final look is not in this build).
And it’d be nice to have something exciting via MSDN this year now that they’ve pushed Whidbey off till next year
PS: Nice preview feature. When did that happen?

If you think that XP is the most expensive OS out there, you really need to get out more.
Longhorn out later this year and on Bittorrent later this year and a day. 😀 It will be interesting though to see what will come out of Redmond. I’m curious as to what they really see Longhorn achieving or creating ‘our’ computing future experiences.
“If you think that XP is the most expensive OS out there, you really need to get out more.”
Show us a more expensive one. Or maybe you don’t think XP Home Edition at $199 is more expensive than OS X at $119, etc.

This must be your favorite line. You probably made it your fav. line after it was said too often to you. But in this case, it’s not in place. Try using it where it really makes sense.

The $120 for OS X is, by definition, the upgrade price. Much like the ~$99 XP Home upgrade price. Look up how much IRIX 6.5 costs some time ($600).

It most certainly does make sense. Your lack of exposure to other platforms is your own limitation. “sad wanker”, indeed.
My copy of Win2000 was $319! At $199 it’d be a bargain!
