i dont know if apple offers a pure java version. But if you download and install this, its in the package format that most Os X apps are.
Just right click and Show Package Contens.. and navigate to the Resources/Java and grab the jar file out. I put this on a Gentoo box and it ran wonderfully. I was pretty impressed, it even had Sheets!
If you follow the ‘more info…’ link from Apple’s download page, you’ll find a .tar.gz & .zip versions as well…or you can take the ‘show package contents’ path, as Jon mentioned…
