What does IBM believe JAVA is the only development language out there? I don’t see one tools supporting C++ development.
I think that Sun Microsystems solutions are more better!
The Rational Purify Tools (Purify, Quantify and Coverage) and works with C and C++ as well and they’re nothing short of excellent.
awhile ago ibm was giving away a free dvd with all their tools on linux, this included (but was not limited to) rational, websphere, db2, etc
I don’t remember where the link was, but I think it was either from osnews
or slashdot, I’ll go drudge it up.
I signed up for the free dvd(s), and they said that they’d ship it in 4-5 weeks.
What’s going on with IBM? Are they getting software written so cheaply in India that they don’t care to charge for it anymore?
“What does IBM believe JAVA is the only development language out there?”
C++ is dead. Long live C++!
“What’s going on with IBM? Are they getting software written so cheaply in India that they don’t care to charge for it anymore?”
I believe those were trial versions. IBM still has it’s right mind. Although it would be nice if they were not limited in any way (developers, developers, developers and all that). And yes the link was OSNews.
