If you dig through the garnome mailing list, someone has ported the newest garnome setup to use the 2.4.1 series of tarballs. He just released it maybe a month ago, and it works nicely. I’m sure he will update it, or you can pull it and update it yourself. It isn’t too much work.
Actually, the gpdf tarball in the release notes was missing at the time of the release so it’s not included at all. I’ll upload the tarball later today…
Why is everybody complaining about the Gnome fileselector? I’m using the Ximian one (I think I am, because I’m running Debian Sid), and I like it this way. I’m pro dual pane.
The one I have is dual pane but with a home, documents and desktop button on the left. Suits my needs.
Because it sucks. :p The old fileselector has several problems: No file icons/preview, no bookmarks (or other kind of shortcut locations), “refresh” and “parent folder” are labeled “.” and “..” respectively *cough* and it can’t access any non local GnomeVFS location.
Then again, I strongly believe that a file selector is basically just a work-around and should be avoided if somehow possible.
Sad that we will as usually see no Garnome release for it.
While promised in the GNOME 2.4 release notes it still seems not to be implemented according to the changelog. 🙁
Now.. RPMS for RH9/Fedora 1 available ?
Add development to your /etc/yum.conf or /etc/sysconfig/rhn/source list
I was thinking of Gnome 2.5 series. ignore the above post
GPDF supports printing at least since 0.111. The one in gnome 2.4.2 is 0.112.

Before anybody complains about the file selector (yet again!), look here:

Here you can download a new, better file selector, which is 100% compatible with the old one.

The Gnome version in sarge (that i am using) and sid
has a patched file selector. its not the stock
file selector shipped with Gnome.
expect a well-crafted selector in Gnome 2.6 .)
