Red Hat today announced that it would assign all of its copyrights in the eCos open source operating system to the Free Software Foundation (FSF). The contribution will enable the Free Software Foundation to act as the sole copyright steward of the project and work directly with the eCos community and its maintainers on future development.
Wow… Really looks like RedHat is trying to narrow its focus. With Fedora, and now this. I say, good for them.
eCos is used for Dreamcast-Linux. Quite a nifty application of it, I think.

Yep they’ve pretty much fallen off the radar. A year ago anything posted about RedHat on OSnews would have gotten dozens if not hundreds of comments. Now nobody gives a damn what they do.
No one here cares about eCos.
