wouldnt mind seeing the peg in rl.
btw are these supposed to blow my mind, or is just for fun/information etc? Cause my P2 400 Mhz linux/win box can do that .. Opaque movement isnt anything special…
Make those windows transparent and make another movie I had a friend who tried the intent system out and he couldnt believe it wasnt hardware accelerated because the alpha blending effects were amazingly fast.
That’s what i’d like to see… Something more on the no so usual sort of thing. But thanx for the vids. as i said, wouldnt mind seeing the peg in action.
Theres an OS4 tour in Australia soonish, can i expect to see a peg there? If the pegs where there, that’d be awsome.

Nope.
The machine used is a Pegasos 1 with G3 600 MHz?
I suggest you distribute these videos with BitTorrent. It saves your bandwidth, and makes downloading for other people faster.
While it is not likely that a Pegasos will be at the AOS4 on tour event, there is a Pegasos dealer in Australia that you could talk to. Check their forums to see if/when they would be having a user-group meeting.

Some days ago 2 or 3 Videos appear about OS4 is running on an AmigaOne and it was really slow (because of early apha: debug modes, no smartrefresh, all parts were in M68k code and were emualted with a NON-JIT emulator).
Some user were very happy with this, but after that (why not earlier? MOS1.4 is out for a month at least!) some MorphOS user grabbed some movies to show how fast it is (yes, it’s fast). I feel like in playground where little children tries to take over each other.
Why these videos ?
If these videos have been released to show that MorphOS -TODAY – is faster (on these operations) than OS4, this is stupid.
If not: why ?

I saw some movies about how modern systems able to handle their gui and i did the same test on my good old Amiga 4000 (1992), which was equipped with a 68060/50Mhz cpu card, and PicassoIV gfx-board using AmigaOS3.1/Picasso96 video system…

Hello,
@Leo: In my point of view it’s just to show the GUI performances of MorphOS for people who don’t know it or haven’t seen it.
Of course I can’t avoid some people to compare them to the OS 4 movies if they want to. But they have not been made for that. And it’s even not really comparable, OS 4 is still in an alpha/beta stage.
