How about an English version of the Zeta preview?
π
It’s not really a preview of Zeta, more like an overview, nothing in depth.
At least that’s what google’s translation says.
How long this preview things will go on? 100 years?, 1000 years? I’ve been following all this crap long enough but couldn’t det my hand on any latest release of this so called BeOS. Do we have to live with the old version of BeOS forever and just keep on reading about Zeta preview all of live?
The screenahots are from the yellowtab tour as well.

You’re not a troll but hey man, you’re preaching to the choir here.
amen
sorry, it should have been “Zeta Overview” I missed it, and you were right, but believe me, I’ve seen Zeta in use for two days at the Webbit.03 convention in Padova this may, and it’s worth the wait.

Have anyone seen ANYTHING useful from Zeta? I havent. Zeta has been going on for years, and the only big news I have heard about it is there 16 year old Web designer….Who might be on vacation, because their website is updated like once a month…
Berndt, please update your “customer” at least once a week. Or are you to busy to care about the users? :/
-Tired, ohhh so tired!
Yes , I have no problem with italain I have red the italian version 2 days ago, No I’ll read the english one !! I eatevrything about Beos !! Cool !
First NeXTezine and now BeYond… itΓ¬s wonderful!!!
Zeta is old technology. IF you have a reasonably new computer (1 year old or newer) you can simply forget about Zeta. The Kernel is hardly updated at all (do they have the sourcecode???). Things like ACPI will fail and mobo won’t be able to boot.
But hey, sure you can pay 100$ or whatever it is to give new life to some old box that you have no interest in using… ehrr…
Just wait for OBOS, that’s what it’s about and forget about Zeta.
BEsides… I hear yellowtab and SCO have very much in common, especially in terms of suing people
Clutch: I really wonder where you’ve got all your (completely wrong) information from…
Zeta is a product that will be released shortly.
OBOS is a project that will be released…just when will it be released.
Also I don’t believe Zeta will have the problems you are claiming.
Some people still use windows 98, Zeta is definately more powerful than that.
A new english version has been uploaded, but there is a problem: I think they need a mirror as soon as possible.
Can any one help?
Emanuele
I purchased BeOS just before they released it for free, while that was a tad annoying, what really bothered me was that they had the opportunity to do this much much earlier to build a user base, gain support from developers and so on. They did the exact opposite of what they should have.
Zeta has no chance unless it’s free for say the first year.

Just have a look at their hardware lists LoL
http://www.yellowtab.com/support/hardware.php
I believe GF4 cards quite common these days… or how about Radeon 9700+???
Yah sure I’m confident that they’ll solve this..
Or how about
http://www.yellowtab.com/bugs/
Can you imagine how long that Freecell bug has been there?
Yellowtab sure is making some heavy progress LoL
Whether you belive or don’t believe that the GF4 will be supported by Zeta has nothing to do with your previous claims, that Zeta won’t boot on new hardware or thet yellowTAB doesn’t have the source code, hasn’t it? So please stop telling bullshit.
Also that you can point to a really not that important bug (imo. Resizing of the Freecell window is not working correctly) in our bug-tracker does not make your story that yellowTAB is not making process or whatsoever any more credible.
Thank you for your attention.
After reading BEYOND I’m really psyched about zeta. Hope it comes out very soon. Oh and thanks to everyone who contributed to BEYOND .
I was against the entire idea of listing our bug lists on the web simply because of our internal cluster organization. Keeping track of which bugs are repaired or present is difficult in a self-paced development system.
For instance, as far as anyone knows, the calculator everyone in yT has is the one that will ship with Zeta, well.. it may end up not being that one. Everyone has to do their own best to stay on the same page, but is not always possible with such a stretched team.
Anyway, Zeta will occur, we simply want to deliver an excellent product. I found I can do more with Zeta than WinME or XP, with less..err… no pop-ups π

Thanks a lot for the magazine and eagerly waiting for the second issue
Again, thank you Gian Davide Alfano
so is there a wysiwg html editor that can handle site projects , is there any native graphics editing suites, pim app alΓ‘ evolution? , multi-protocol IM that support jabber conferences?
av conferencing solution?
I mean, thats the killer features for me…

Hi Anonymous!
When I came to BlueEyedOS I had 17 years old. Now I have 18 years old. Ok, Zeta HP is more advanced that o’mine, but I do it in my spare time and BlueEyedOS is not a commercial product. Only for information

What makes you so confident? I’ve never seen anything which would give me the impression they have the sourcecode.
Besides I was making examples. Would you pay 49$+ for an OS whihc you don’t have a clue whether it will work???
It’s a shame to see a talented person like Looncraz waste his time and effort on a company like yellowtab.
The issues with the source code has been discussed many times before and while yellowTAB has (afaik) not made any other statements than that they have a contract with Be Inc. (now Palm), I think it has been generally accepted that it does not even matter if they do have the code or if they don’t. Fact is, however, that they have a working OS, which has many similarities to BeOS (as well as a very high binary compatibility), which runs on modern hardware and which could be actually seen running and tested by many people.
So the question is not why I am so confident, but why you’re telling something things about yellowTAB which you have in fact no idea of?
Besides I was making examples. Would you pay 49$+ for an OS whihc you don’t have a clue whether it will work???

“Hardware Compatibility
Here you’ll find a list of the hardware compatible with Zeta and information about all known problems. If you want to make sure that Zeta works correctly on your computer you can see if your hardware is supported using the search function.”
