MacNN reports that the Darwin team today posted the Darwin 6.5 source code, corresponding to Mac OS X 10.2.5. “Darwin 6.5 is what we call an ‘on-cycle’ source-code release, where the corresponding Darwin source is made available soon after a new release of Mac OS X to customers.” Several projects (e.g., gcc, gdb, CUPS, Rendezvous) will continue to do ‘off-cycle’ releases, according to the developer, whereby the source code is updated more frequently than our commercial releases.
on that page it says GCC is under the APSL
I thought that GPL and APSL were incompatable, so how could they change the license?
Let’s think for a moment. Which is more likely. The web developer simply getting tired writing “APSL” and “Other” (the only two licenses on the page) or Apple changing the GCC license Especially since the original version of GCC was written by none other than RMS himself. Wow. I can just *imagine* those fireworks.

Big deal… obviously a typo…
Hey, do you like the new Darwin icon? I added two more topics today, “Darwin and derivatives” and “Sun Solaris”.
that icon is pretty cool.

Compaines are created by the human, after all. 😉 However, Microsoft, Sun, Nvidia and other major companies have maken many mistakes. None of them are perfect.
BTW: Eugenia, yes, I like those new icons. It’s alot better!
For the binaries (esp. x86 ^_^). I hope they’re released soon.
They make FEATURES!!
