In an exclusive piece of research, Check Point Researchers have carried out a revealing investigation into North Korea’s home-grown anti-virus software, SiliVaccine. One of several interesting factors is that a key component of SiliVaccine’s code is a 10-year-old copy of one of Trend Micro’s, a Japanese company, software components.
It also contained a piece of malware, so not much different from western anti-virus.
It is slightly depressing that even North Korea hasn’t embraced an open source OS, e.g. Linux. Sure, they can just pirate it, but you’d think thy would appreciate the ability to tailor OneTrueOS to Kim Jong _’s desire.
Well, there’s this, though still just as depressing. 🙂

I am pretty sure even toilet paper is more important to him than some software. They can just buy Windows license, possibly through some shell company.
Thom, you know that nobody forces you to post nonsense like that, right? You are interesting and funny even without those.
BTW, you can have Windows Defender (a ‘western antivirus’) if you don’t like the fact third party AVs install kernel drivers in the system.

Oh, he’s not full of crap this time unlike, say, some of his idealistic political stuff . Have you ever tried to remove McAfee, Norton, or Kaspersky? I mean completely remove them, not just go through the uninstaller and assume it’s been removed? I’ve dealt with malware which was easier to remove than that junk and less persistent at that.
