Today is iOS 9 release day – which means that most likely, most of you have already upgraded. The Ars review concludes:
Last year we said that iOS 8 felt like the second half of the iOS 7 update, the one that completed the transition between iOS’ skeuomorphic era and our current reality, where the lines between “mobile device” and “computer” blur a little more every day. iOS 9 takes that foundation and builds on top of it without radically altering things, much in the same way that iOS 6 built on top of the advancements in iOS 4 and iOS 5.
It was a smaller release, and as a result, testing the final build of iOS 9 was frankly kind of a relief.
The only feature I really care about is that when you hit shift, you can actually tell you’re in caps mode. Welcome to 2009, iOS users
Agreed. That will be a very nice feature that has been a long time coming. Now, if I can just stop getting the “Software update failed message.”

so far ive found it a good solid release, the phone feels a lot faster especially when using safari.
The slide out feature is really really useful on my iPad,
I like the new low battery option and the new font is also a lot easier to read through the system.
I have an iPad Air 2 and so far the multitasking, while possibly could be useful, i haven’t found that much of a use for, i own a galaxy note 10.1 and found the multitasking only worked well when you had them as floating windows. As mentioned before the slide out quick access to messages/emails etc is very very handy.
I’ve actually used the multitasking for 1Password.
The new slide-out/proactive thing is bollocks!! Lets say you don’t want your most recent contacts showing up there, so you go and disable “Contacts” in the suggestions settings. Guess what, you also lose the ability to search for contacts in Spotlight. Same for apps. Who the fuck approved this?!
Instead of slide right you can just pull down and it doesn’t show your most recent contacts. Lol.
I myself am loving the ad blockers, makes the web sooooo much faster. Never realized how slow the web was because of ads. Honestly thought it was Apple only using 1GB of ram. Put on Peace ad blocker and Zoooooom!
This is one of those things that will finally seperate the Apple business model from Googles.
