Today, we’ve been able to source the list of all the apps that will be pre-installed on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. This list contains only two Samsung apps, three apps from Microsoft, all the Google apps, as well as apps like WhatsApp and Facebook. Samsung will also pre-install GALAXY APPS so that you can download other apps from Samsung, as well as other premium apps which Samsung provides for free.

Also, TouchWiz on the Galaxy S6 will not be much different from Android Lollipop based TouchWiz on the Galaxy Note 4, however the software will be leaner and faster, along with many more animations from Google’s latest design guidelines. Samsung has also updated the design of all the essential apps like music player, video player, and gallery to better suit Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Maybe Samsung learned its lesson?
Such as Facebook and Twitter?
My Brothers Android came with these installed and Facebook takes lots of CPU (and by implication Battery)
Like me he is not on any Social Networking System so these are just a total waste of time.
If they can be removed then I’d say that Samsung has learnt a lesson (for today)
Interesting… my S4 didn’t come with either of those installed (unlike previous phones I’ve owned). Depends on where you get it from, maybe? Mine was bought independently, no contract or anything, and while it has a few Samsung apps on it, there’s very little else.
you know, the apps will consume CPU only if they run (so if you don’t provide them with your account data, they can’t do much). otherwise, they just waste some storage space, which is bad, but not as bad. alternatively, you can disable their notifications.
So they will only install 2 Samsung apps but who knows how many “galaxy” apps? What’s the difference? Also, if Samsung had learned their lesson, they would have thrown TouchWiz away entirely.
Galaxy Apps aka some kind of app store or app download portal to download other apps, not “a collection of apps prefixed with Galaxy instead of Samsung”
Still too much of bloatware. Facebook, WhatsApp, 3 Microsoft’s apps and Google apps are all available from Play Store. But once there’s no easy way to get rid of them. (Well, there are several ways, but not via stock Android interface, and not with average user’s skills.)
