When we announced the Model B+ back in July, we said that we’d also be producing a lower-cost variant, analogous to the original Model A. Since then, James has been beavering away, and today we’re pleased to announce the release of the Raspberry Pi Model A+ at a new low price of $20.
If you were doubting getting a Pi, now is the time to take the plunge.
“If you were doubting getting a Pi, now is the time to take the plunge.”
If you don’t own a Pi yet, buy a model B+. The A+ doesn’t have network out of the box, and less USB ports. A+ is for those that like to do embedded stuff, and don’t need all the extras the B+ packs.
You could use a USB Wifi adapter. But then again, this model only has one USB-port.
Indeed (that’s why I wrote “out of the box”). So then you’d need a USB hub for mouse and keyboard. I mean, *I* have use for a model A+ and will be ordering one when they become available here, but this is not the model for everyone.
Yeah, that comment didn’t make much sense to me either… `If you were doubting getting a Pi, now is the time to buy a much less capable one for only slightly less.`
Smaller in size, consumes less power, weighs less, costs less = awesomesauce.
