As expected, Google has just unveiled Android 4.3. It’s not a huge release, but its got some nice optimisations, bug fixes, and a small number of new features. Nexus 4, 7, 10 and the Galaxy Nexus will receive the update today, and the new Nexus 7, also unveiled today, ships it by default. Speaking of the new Nexus 7 – it’s got a 1200×1920 display, and is pretty much better in every possible way compared to the outgoing model. Still as cheap, too. Most of all: I hope they improved the horrible NAND flash Asus used which is the Achilles heel of the outgoing model.
After looking at the first picture I thougt it was a tablet. After looking again, I know it’s a tablet.
Title is missleading.
What?
Oh silly me, Nexus is not only a phone, but also a tablet. And I thought that Apple sucked at naming department with iPhone and iPad.
Ignore.
(Finally got the OP comment, nothing to see here, move along).

Darn you, Google!
Just as I was about to buy the Xperia tablet, you do this…now I’ll face some more tough decision-making. I hate decision-making…
That IS tough, both sony and google have been great about helping cyanogenmod…. Though Sony should be rewarded for recent attempts at good behavior!
I hope Freedreno driver will get in shape for this, and then it can get Plasma Active with Wayland running.
This is exactly why I upgraded to a Nexus 4. In a few days I will be sporting Android 4.3. I have no idea why anyone would want to force a skin over Android 4.2 (and I imagine Android 4.3). On my Nexus 4 it is so smooth, simple, clear. From now on I’m sticking with a vanilla Android device. Since I am in the T-Mobile jump program, when the next Nexus device comes out (with 72 cores and a 4000×2000 screen I imagine), I will just upgrade.
Which means you will unofficially become an unpaid beta tester for Google, at which time you may notice things like them forgetting to add December to the calendar or a busted bluetooth audio stack
As for me, I’ll wait at least a couple of weeks.
This is the price/specs of tablets.
If Google can do it, Microsoft can do better.
That is a weird thing to say. Google has shown that they can do things MS can’t.
As I mentioned elsewhere, I’ve been seriously considering getting my hands onto a Nexus 4. Now I’m wondering if another Nexus 4 is coming out soon.
Want… However it also means that some used first gen 7’s will be sold soon, and probably cheap!
