Installed – for now I would say the rendering is very quick. One of the problems I had in the past was “pseudo” URLs. E.g., a web link to an item in the Google Play store. In the past, Opera would take me to the website. This time, it took me to that applications page in the Google Play app. So far, two thumbs up.
Opera is fixated on the Speed Dial and is determined to force-feed it to us as the ONLY way to deal with bookmarks. You can’t even edit anything in Speed Dial.
I think NCSA Mosaic did it better.
Um, you can actually edit speed dial…
I guess I’m missing it. How do I change the name or the URL of something in the Speed Dial?
You don’t change the URL. You just add the page you want as a new one and delete the old one.
It feels like a clone of chrome in an opera skin without the benefits of using opera. Memory is way up, rendering times are horrendous on slow bandith (where we used to have opera turbo) and also there is something really wrong with opera rss and opera mail as i can not either find them or when i do they harly work if at all.
FF as osnews pointed out is turning out to be the best choice is already installed but to be honest, i am a creature of habit and i will probably use opera but downgrade to latest presto.
Luddite, perhaps… But this time it is well founded in performande and rendering.
There is an Off-road mode which I believe is similar to Turbo. Last time I tried this, it was quicker than Chrome. I’ll have to try it out again.
“It feels like a clone of Chrome” because it uses more memory? Wow.
Mail and RSS? Opera on mobile phones never had that built in!
