Yes! The first batch of Raspberry Pi boards is finally shipping out to customers around the world. It’s been a long journey (ugh), but at least we’ll be seeing reviews and videos now. My Pi is still on backorder, so no review on OSNews just yet.

I’am in the U.S. and mine has an estimate date of delivery of August 8, 2012 . It originally said April 4, 2012 .
I’am for those getting though, at least when I get it, there should be a ton of software for it.
This gets Duke Nukem Forever dimensions.
But i strongly belive its way more worth it than the game (And even half the price)…
When I ordered it late in Feb. they said 2 weeks…then 4….now:
Expected Ship Date 16 Aug 2012
According to reports in the Raspberry Pi sites, RS Components and Farnel are starting up their own production… So we should be able to get some soon!
Quoting the email from Newark:

We’d like to apologize to all customers who placed orders with Newark element14 and have seen their acknowledged delivery date suddenly change on our website’s order backlog to August 2012.
At present, as already communicated by Raspberry Pi, all deliveries are on hold awaiting the outcome of the compliance testing currently taking place. To avoid misleading people while the compliance testing takes place, our system auto-generated the August date, which has clearly caused confusion.
We’re sorry!
We can absolutely commit that our orders will be shipped in the order they were originally received and that no-one has lost their place in line as a result of this latest change. Once the compliance testing is complete we will then have a clearer idea about our future deliveries and we will confirm accurate delivery dates to our many thousands of customers.
Once again we apologize to all of our customers for this delay in providing the Raspberry Pi’s they so desperately want. Hopefully these initial troubles will improve the overall experience in the long run.

The Raspberry Pi team reported that compliance testing was completed and passed a week and a half ago!
What the heck they on about? These 2 companies seem to be on a permanent go slow, especially where the Rasp Pi is concerned. Any more excuses to delay it?
I was expecting my original delivery date of April 14 to change as order was accepted 3/3 (oh believe me, I was there on the day of, helping to crash the servers); and so it has, to August 16 as well.
With CE testing done tohugh, you’d think there would be a sooner date available, maybe a few weeks later delivery, but to have it sit at mid-August like it was prior to testing, well that is just grande suckage.
I hope to see the RaspberryPi Fedora Remix on Distro Watch (and other flavor distros)… it would be nice to see developers tinkering away on all the possibilities and coolness this little device can offer.
