TechTV published a look at security issues in the past year, and they found that worms, viruses, spam, and other security scourges are on the rise, and are affecting common computer users as well as big data centers: If 2001 was the year of corporate headaches, 2002 saw average PC users under attack.
Frankly, in the past year I have not gotten one single e-mail virus, even that I didn’t open. And even if I did, Yahoo wouldn’t let me download it (Yahoo, as well as Hotmail, I believe, screen for viruses).
I just cleaned a computer today with an unknown virus on it. he had thought that a screen saver scanned by nav @ hotmail would save him. it didnt.
you are just lucky
I don’t know how many virus I recieve at my mailbox… Since I use Opera and Yahoo (not a very good combination lately thanks to Yahoo), I have yet to get infected with a virus.
Maybe I’m smart enough to know a virus from a email from a friend….
