This is huge for MeeGo and QT.
Smart TV’s will become most people primary household computer for email, ecommerce, entertainment, and apps and I foresee even game service that compare to OnLive.
Not even un-realistically Wireless displays and keyboards might extend it’s accesibility throughout the household for more traditional desktops tasks.
H-Open talked about the “10-foot long interface” that is going to be one of the first development priorities.
The subsystem evolution and applications developed however by third parties will benefit all MeeGo devices, and MeeGo Mobile handsets.
Thats why i think we’ll have many MeeGo handsets in the future.

This sounds so ridiculously unrealistic to me. Do you have ANY sort of proof for this except your wishful/geek-thinking?
My tv is for watching tv and I do more and more of that on my pc/laptop because it allows me to record and timeshift which my tv can’t do. My tv is also for watching those recorded shows and some streamed media. My tv is NOT for email and ecommerce or apps. (entertainment is a very broad term so I won’t touch on that one)
That is because the majority of households use the pc for email, websurfing and entertainment.
It is not wishfull/geek futurism. It is already starting to happen.
In Africa they are trying to do it his way.
Most people dont have pc’s but televsion so in an attempt to bring them in to the online world to access to email, education material, cloudservice and when band with gets a bit cheaper entertainment also the are starting to sell them keyboards with build in sim’s and connectors to normal television.

About your geek/futurist statement…12 year ago we only used our phones for calls.
Maybe your statement then would have been. “I use my console and media players for games and entertainment. Also office suites on cellphones? Get the f&@# out of here. Who would use there cellphones in that way?”
