“The Palo Alto Research Center was built here by Xerox in the early 1970s and was chartered with creating information architecture to serve as a West Coast center of research and development for the company. Linda Jacobson, PARC’s communications and marketing manager, recently showed CNET News around the now-independent facility where laser printing and Ethernet networking – among many other innovations – got their start. Come along on our tour.”
I always loved the “history hallway” That showed all the achievements In Xerox’s Webster NY complex that showed pictures of this facility, in Chronological order. Its nice to see more of them
This is really neat, Never really seen any pics of the place. Lots of amazing research went on here… and I guess still goes on
PARC almost single handedly developed what we now call the “personal computer” and email and the GUI as we currently use one, and… etc… amazing stuff.
Certainly the “Holy Land” of tech…
so since 1979 anything new come out lately?
