Off topic but if you ask me Theo’d be perfectly justified in throwing a fit about a statement as ignorant as that. Simply put, the BSD family is not Linux. They had completely different beginnings and, in case you hadn’t noticed, are very different at the kernel level. They have similar userlands, and the various BSDs and even OS X use some GNU components. But to say that BSD is from the Linux family is a complete and utter falsehood. If you had said it was from the Opensource UNIX family or some such you would be absolutely correct. Remember Linux != UNIX.
In any case, this article isn’t really current news, I saw a similar article a few months ago.

That statement by Vince Londini, is just yet further proof of the lack of research that analysts actually perform before publishing a statement.
