It’s imo counterproductive to support commercial operating systems. But in the end, I’m doing it the BSD way, just real freedom. So it’s not nice in my opinion, but sufficient to show the *proper* meaning of “as in freedom”

Wider support for FUSE surely means that more developers will work on it, and the existing code will be more thoroughly tested.

Because why should open-source freely give away its crown jewels to companies like Apple and Microsoft? Especially Apple who is very eager to spread the word about its “superiority” in terms of hardware and software? Apple MacOS is build on open-source software, its own work is somewhat couture, nothing more, nothing less. So yes it hurts to see real superior software in the hands of this company.

seriously? maybe because it’s open source? that is what open source is all about, open and free and anyone can use it.. if open source didn’t want to be used by more people it could go closed source.
I agree that Apple (IMO) should give more credit to open source projects… but I also understand that they are out to make $$$. So… they do what they do and do it well.
I use a lot of open source software on my Mac which is good in case I ever decide to switch to BSD or linux again. I am glad it is available… so it obviously isn’t a waste in my opinion.
if the server is running on default port and you have connected to it before and accepted it’s key. Any chance we see ssh support in Finder on Leopard?

This being said, I am very glad that this project is a reality. Definitely a feature that all “modern” operating systems should have. Thanks to the developers of that open-source project for making it possible.
Not literally, I am talking about Apple making bold moves, and thier community following suit. Wasent talking about actually playing games on a mac.. I love getting modded down for the wrong reasons.

if you are looking for sshfs only there is another young project called sshfs for darwin. check it out:

it has some nice features like follow syslinks, non-default ports, etc.
