and where are the news ? these mobile device java stuff is old news i first heard about them 2.5 years ago and i am since then signed developer.
This is about the release of what was called Java Personal Edition, i.e. the JRE 1.1, cut down for PDA’s to what is now called J2ME Personal Profile, which is a Java 2 (or 1.2+) platform, which is news.
I really don’t know what good this will do, unless sun ports it to WinCE (which I don’t see MS doing).
i know but that is not news. the ppc (pocketpc) version of micro java was released 2 years ago. i have one of the first source releases of it burned on one of my cd-rom’s and used it to develop some basic software
