In the run up to the launch of PlayStation 2, Sony set out its ultimate vision for gaming technology. In a series of commercials run in the United States, the PlayStation 2 was hailed as a step in the evolution of the surgically implanted PlayStation 9 controller, tipped to hook up to the a transparent glassy globe which is the console through the retina.
lol. This is funny.
Sony groks the metaverse.
Implants,

Yeah, and your own, future, personal cell. Great. Not.
As knowledge = power, the competitive advantage of the future will be in personal intel/information co-processing.
Thus the advent of the implant.
Cell + Grid are the amplifiers, the machines that enable heavy lifting.
Life is but a game inside a game.

Once upon a time, a wise old country tried to ban the video game, attempting to save the spirit of the natural man. They were ridiculed and scorned. As it turns out, they never did find their way to the Black Sun.
…or is the Calendar at Sony False that they Thinking it thats today the first April *smile*
“sms is the first step towards telepathy for our species.”
We were in a bar emailing each other in near realtime about my failed attempts at hitting on various girls. The result being that I supplied him with enough information to get a phone number.
According to Sony, Hollywood, and SciFi writers, implants are a matter of time. If Sony is the company that is willing to sell me the technology that I want, and in the past they have been, then I’m going to be right there in line waiting for it to come out. If I can spend a few hours in surgery to blur the line between my brain and the information I’m going to.
Not to spoil the party, but do you really think that SONY wants to make this? Think of the lawsuits. If SONY
wanted to be in bio-med, it would already be there.
And I don’t think SONY will be making PlayStation 9 in 2075. By then, I will have expected SONY to have
merged with Microsoft/AOL/TimeWarner/Maidenform/Toyota/Democratic Republic of Congo Incorporated/… .
methinks CuppaJoe is right on the money there
corporate merger.. corporate merger… everywhere a corporate merger
shadowrun, here we come!!!
Well.. I guess there will be shorter lines on the alpha and beta lists – along with a disclaimer saying “all rights to sue are waived by the participants and, in the event of death, by their relatives…”
Bah i won’t be alive in 2075, besides its just another fad of the 70’s like disco, and Jimmy Carter.
Who needs sony when there is Nintendo.
Nintendo the best gaming company ever!
…don’t know why, but I’m feeling a bit afraid.
Then again, maybe resistance is futile.
