Apple seeded developers with a new build of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard late Thursday night. The new build, 9A377a, arrived roughly six weeks after the last Leopard seed, 9A343, was delivered. According to accompanying release notes, 9A377a delivers performance improvements over 9A343, features a new iSync plug-in maker, offers more powerful searching, and features Safari compatibility for rich text editing. In addition, the build features a new Sharing preferences pane and enhancements to the Address Book for taking photos.
Want try it. But I have no MAC.
Argh! Please don’t feed the I-NEED-OSX-ON-PC people, they do my head in .____.
I didn’t know you could run Mac OS X on a Mandatory Access Control (MAC).
Not to sound testy, goodness gracious, when it is all in capitals, it means its a acronym, Mac is not an acronym, it is shorthand for Macintosh.
There is something new one learns everyday. Thanks for the joke, you made my day
It’s Media Access Control, dammit!
😉
/s/dammit!/insistive clod!
it just really tickles me pink the number of people here who have an obession with the idea of using all capitals when referrign to Mac; sure, I used to call Sun SUN because it stood for Standford UNiversity (SUN), but from what I have heard, they’re now just called Sun hence the shockly terrible Sun/Star related branding which Sun insist on.
stood for Standford UNiversity (SUN)
I think you missed the N for Network. Standford University Network. And hence SUNs old ‘The Network is the Computer’ marketing mantra ..
lol, true, ah, the heady days of the dot-con ‘we put the dot in dot com’ where the sheep went around claiming that it was all good that a company never made a profit as long as they were ‘growing’.
If you want one then save your dollars! Seriously. The Mini is a fantastic machine. Had mine for about a month and loving every minute of it.
Apple is very affordable today. I just purchased a Macbook with a 2 Ghz core 2 duo processor and 2 GB of ram and I couldn’t find a better price from Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, HP, Gateway or any of the others. Sometimes the price was equal or cheaper by about 10-20 $ but the competitors lacked internal Bluetooth and a built-in webcam.
I agree – Apples are more affordable.
I don’t need a high-end system and this Mini does what I need.
This little machine allows me to connect to my Oracle, Linux, Unix, OS X and McSoft WinTrash servers without fail.
I can also just listen to my music, watch a movie, balance my checkbook, etc. I’m not much of a gamer which bore the hell out of me.
With the UB of warcraft 3 and ET you can play with the mac mini intel
There is no ‘real’ graphic card, but the processor is fast enough to play with a 20″, all with max details (ok, it’s pretty old games but they rock).
even whe Macs wer’nt “afforadable” i could not bring my self to spend my hard earned money on a dell or and HP! Sony ALMOST got my money…. but i expected more from sony… i expected them NOT to go with windows! after seeign what they did with Palm and the Clie line of PDA…. i really expected sony to take linux…. build a SICK interface… and changed the world! instead… they became a distributer for a competitor…
any way…. there realls is ZERO excuss for people NOT to buy and Apple for there next personal computer!
why buy a Kia… when you can get and Audi… for damn near the same price!!!!
I never liked the car analogies too much, but I must say seeing XP on a $3000 carbon-fiber Vaio must be a lot like finding Ford parts in your new Jag…
I agree, even if you end up hating OSX you’ve still got a pretty capable linux/windows machine.
Personally I love OSX and since switching I am more productive (than on linux).
Torrent Link please
No
This build does not represent a development state close to an actual shipping product. Judging from the amount of work yet to be done, I guess “first half of 2007” will be pretty close to June 30.

Yeah, especially when all you need is to build a pc with similar specs to a Mac and download a torrent of OS X and your golden. I did it recently at work for testing, the only trouble is I had an 800 series chipset and onboard video is only supported in the 900 series.
and it’s illegal to download and to use
I went in the other direction. I put Fedora on my G5 dual 2.0. Haven’t looked back! I still have OS X on my MacBook Pro, mind you.
any OS thats NOT from redmond….is good in my book! i love Linux… and i am a Mac user!

probably be a good idea to buy a legit copy of osx to do this.
