“Elive is a live CD Linux distribution based on Debian that uses the Enlightenment window manager. Elive aims to provide an aesthetically pleasing environment with a full suite of desktop applications that runs efficiently on older systems. Its developers aren’t finished yet, but they’ve come a long way with Elive since the release of 0.3 more than a year ago. This CD shows how beautiful distributions can become without being bloated.”
looks very nice.
are these people the same that work on enlightenment? (the server is on fire now). are they going to wait for E17 to become stable before releasing the final version of elive?
it is my personal opinion that Elive with the Lucax (Night) theme is the best-looking distro out there.
Beauty! http://shots.linuxquestions.org/?linux_distribution_sm=Elive%20…
In my Dell D620 this distro simple don’t work.
Sadly to me.
I gave a nice donation to Elive and ran their distribution for a few months. I thought it was very nice.
It is based on Debian, so you have access to apt to install any additional programs you might need.
Elive could use a little polish in some areas, and their Control Panel, while nicely done, could use some human factoring work, but other than that, it was a very nice distribution to run. I definitely plan on trying it again after a couple more releases.
i thought foresight linux was a nice-looking distro. i gave it a shot, but couldn`t get my dsl to connect. i emailed ken vandine and received a very uninterested response for a solution. so, looks ain`t everything. so, based on experience, i don`t think i’ll try this new elive release. in fact, i’m waiting for the final of the new pclinux.

Best looking distro yet.
I noticed elivecd.org has been down for several days now. A shame, as I was interesting in finding out more about this distro. Anyone know what happened to them?
