“We are pleased to present the third technology preview of Qt Jambi to our commercial customers and the open source community for testing and feedback. Qt Jambi is a prototype technology that enables Java developers to utilize Qt: the leading framework for high-performance, cross-platform applications.” And you can win a MacBook.
Hi,
I’ve taken a look at QtJambi and it looks nice. In particular the Eclipse integration of the designer looks promising.
Trolltech says, that QtJambi has been developed since several of their customers have been interested in developing Qt with java. Well, it is interesting, but I’ve never heard any request for this Obviously I’ve missed it…
Maybe this is a new impulse for GUI developing with java and it is also a good news for the linux desktop environment kde. I am curious about it.
Everybody interested in it should try the webstart demo. http://www.trolltech.com/developer/download/qtjambi.jnlp
This is really cool No installation of the software but really great qt-typically desktop integration.
Greetings
Mike

Good link,
How did you navigate to it from their main page?
Hi,
I’ve found this link a few weeks ago. Don’t know, where I got it. But this time I used google (“qtjambi webstart”) to find the link.
Greetings
Mike
This is possibly a very cool opportunity to the KDE community to use GCJ and Jambi to write a java-level framework into KDE. I’m not sure Java is such a huge conceptual leap over C++, but it might be worthwhile to take a stab.
