“Another LinuxWorld Conference & Expo has come and gone. More than 10000 attendees and 175 exhibitors passed through the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The show ended yesterday after a shorter schedule of talks and exhibits, including a session by kernel developer Greg Kroah-Hartman. Here’s our final report, including more video goodness.”
Had a great time, not as much embedded stuff as I like to see, couple nice boards and a phone were all, wish linux had it’s own embedded sys conf. Probably go to ESC to see where it all went. Despite the media efforts to create controversy out of not much doin’ I thought redhat and sun were not missed but rather well represented by the fedora and opensolaris presence, they just crossed the room which may actually be news. Saw a lot of signs of linux growing up in the tool department, very encouraging. Shwag I’d rate it a bit of all right, 4 penguin T shirts, half dozen pens, one 3 color with stylus, dice drink cooler, qlogic postit caddy, creative commons buttons, strobing novell badge, great free Linux magazine selection may have been the big score. The promise controller cheerleaders may have been a bit over the top. /. lounge was not exactly a hot bed of social interaction but seemed more like a place to get some work done with the surrounding Xorg/debian/gentoo/creative commons/postgres little corner the party zone. My feet hurt. Dinner at Spengers.
