“This is a detailed description how to set up a CentOS 4.3 based server that offers all services needed by ISPs and hosters (web server (SSL-capable), mail server (with SMTP-AUTH and TLS!), DNS server, FTP server, MySQL server, POP3/IMAP, Quota, Firewall, etc.). This tutorial is written for the 64-bit version of CentOS 4.3, but should apply to the 32-bit version with very little modifications as well.”
I’m installing CentOS 4.3 on a fresh system, so I answer Yes to the question Would you like to initialize this drive, erasing ALL DATA?
This means he is erasing the copy of Microsoft Windows that his PC retailer required him to buy.
…this installation is made on VMWare, so Microsoft probably won’t send someone out to buy paper clips on this guy’s genreated revenues
I love CentOS… I really do. If it were a desktop distribution I would call it “Polished” and full of “Eye Candy.” Downloading a set of CDs or a 2.8GB DVD gives me access to a set-up which I know will “just work” when it comes to some commercial “enterprise platforms.” In as much as I want to heap the priase on the whole CentOS team (which I do), I must admit I still consider it Red Hat (and so, thanks to the team there too!)
