OpenBSD 3.9 will include a new sensor framework to allow system administrators to monitor the environmental conditions of servers running OpenBSD. OpenBSD 3.9, which is scheduled for release on 1 May, includes support for the sensors and the sensor management tools used on a number of architectures, Theo de Raadt, the founder and lead developer of OpenBSD, told ZDNet UK earlier this week.
Theo de Raadt is a cool name
(I am upgrading a firewall from openbsd 3.7 to 3.8)
Just out of curiosity, why are games in the default installation of openbsd?
I mean honestly, what is the point in that?
Yes this is offtopic, but it just so happened I checked my ssh session and saw it compiling games was like WTF?
So you don’t get bored silly
You need to have something to do while your OpenBSD server sits quietly and flawlessly protecting your network.
Games aren’t in the default install, at least not on mine (3.9). If i recall correctly, you had to select them as an additional component in 3.7 and 3.8 as well.
“Just out of curiosity, why are games in the default installation of openbsd? ”
Only if you chose to install the “games.tgz” package, wich isnt selected by default.
“Such a feature is still missing in Linux and other major operating systems.”
What about lm_sensors? They show all the mentioned stuff here through xsensors
