“Anyone who has been following the tech headlines lately has had no choice but to find themselves immersed in news and speculation about the ultramobile PCs. After weeks of rampant speculation about the Origami Project and news streaming in from an unusually exciting Cebit expo, consumers have been introduced to this new form factor and have finally received some definite answers about what to expect.”
I expected the same old dung in a slightly different bag without any real innovation and was not disappointed.
The author is whining about the lack of a DVD drive, why not a floppy drive while he’s at it? I don’t even remember the time I last used a CD or DVD on my desktop… has he heard about the Internet yet?
tablet pc version 2
When will these be in stores like Best Buy so I can hold it to get a better idea if it might be worth buying?
I heard somewhere these machines will be available for ~$500. Sounds very appealing if you ask me. I’m one of those guys who never came along very well with Laptops nor PDAs. I can see how they’re useful, just that the PDA is crippled UI wise (small small small).. and the laptop is just to much work to bring with me, to check the mail. For me this is the ultimate thing to check the mail and such, browse websites on the train, without having to go through all the hazzle with a big laptop.
Oh and regarding Tablets…. they’re simply way too overpriced.
