The presentations and reports from the Fedora users and developers conference, FUDCon, are available. Christopher Blizzard, Red Hat desktop team leader, talked about the future of the Linux desktop and current gaps and Greg Dek, Fedora community relationships manager, and several others talked about Fedora in India.
They really really need to pick a new name for the conference. Really.
I always laugh when I see the name FUDcon and I agree they need to change it. It is very amusing however.
I agree its amusing. But I think that it is used appropriately. A lot of their user base use the acronym openly without knowing the three words attributed to its meaning. Its a jargon befitting Fedora users.
That’s why in FUDcon’s wiki front page there’s:
======================================================
FUDCon: Fedora User and Developer Conference
FUD: An acronym for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. A typical tactic used by the opponents of open source to prevent its widespread adoption.
Con: In opposition or disagreement with; against.
FUDCon is all about fighting FUD.

But it is not quite convincing… =]
“I ment to visit this conference but I heard a lot of bad things about it.”
