GNOME 2.13.5 has been released. As always, the odd-numbered branches indicate dev-branches, and as such the 2.13.x series is the step-up to the GNOME 2.14 release, planned for March this year. Release notes: platform, desktop, and bindings; downloads: platform, desktop, and bindings.
What’s going to be in 2.14?
There were some nice sneak peeks for 2.10 and 2.12 (http://www.gnome.org/~davyd/gnome-2-10/ and http://www.gnome.org/~davyd/gnome-2-12/) but I didn’t found anything for 2.14. And changing 2-12 for 2-14 in the URL doesn’t work.
Some of the new features in 2.14:
– Several performance optimizations;
– Search function integrated in Nautilus;
– New eog UI design and several bug fixes;
– SIP support in GnomeMeeting (now Ekiga);
– Improved bookmarks system in Epiphany;
– Edge resistence in metacity, as well as a new compositor (formely on the spif-2 branch).
– The ‘Admin’ suite.
I’m sure there’s something on live.gnome.org that tracks the changes for the release notes, which haven’t been written yet.
