“This article provides a brief overview of the currently available Java Development Kits and Java Runtime Environments for Linux on POWER. It covers the Linux distributions running on the IBM eServer iSeries, including eServer i5; eServer pSeries, including eServer p5; eServer BladeCenter JS20; and eServer OpenPower.”
If you intend to run it for 1.4-ish applications, at least, as it is from last September vs. mid 2001, when 1.0.6 was released.
See http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=kaffe for RPM sources from Mandrake, and make sure you pass –with-engine=intrp to configure script, as the ppc JIT is still work in progress.
