Umeet Meeting 05 arrived to the sixth edition of the conference. The conference will take place online (IRC, WWW) on December, 9-20. We would like to welcome this time to everybody who wants to join us together with friends we met at previous editions. Registration and attendance is free. Speakers like Aaron Seigo (KDE), Rodrigo Moya (GNOME), Marcus Brinkman (GNU/Hurd), Rik Van Riel (Redhat), Alejandro Sánchez Acosta (GNU), Michael Meeks (OpenOffice), César Lopez Nataren (Mono), and other important hackers will be talking about the free software desktop, security and operating systems.
Seems like this is a South American thing based on those that have registered so far.
What the hell are you talking about?
Given that 1/3 are from Spain (you know, that country hanging from France, and far away from South America) it seems like it’s more a Spanish thing
Anyway, most talks are in English, so… who cares?
Sorry, its just really easy to forget a country like Spain.
Looks like some topic will be in my native language. Guess I’d better connect to those. And the Gnome and KDE chats on day one seem interesting(hopefully)
Hello, I am from Mexico, as far as I know, the Uninet thing is from Burgos University in Spain. So yes, it sees to be mainly a Spanish thing but, you do not need to worry as it seems there will be translators for the spanish talks.
And as somebeody else said there are several talks that are going to be in English. May be interesting anyway. I am already registered =o)
