“S3 Graphics and Fujitsu Limited today announced that Fujitsu will be producing the new range of S3 Graphics’ high performance graphics processors, which leverage Fujitsu’s 90 nanometer process technology to enable the realization of graphics processors that feature high speeds and industry-leading performance per watt.”
You can stir-fry stuff in seconds on my current graphics card.
thats nothin’! My SLI 7800’s started melting my case until I used liquid nitrogen cooling!
Will they release source code(or at least some specs) so the drivers could be made to work with Alternative Operating Systems (Linux, BSD, et all)???
But will the drives suck as badly as they did back in the day when S3 was a real contendor in the video game market?
Is it just me or is this “Performance per watt” being said for almost every product these days… It seens to be the “in” thing these days.
My toaster has a superiour performance to watt than yours. Of course it cant really toast worth a damn.
Yet another vague propaganda only press release. All they talk about is performance increases, which I add are unsubstantiated in that document, relative to previous S3 generations. Now, I don’t know about any one else, but I’ve not seen S3 designs that were viable save for very low end desktops in years. So are they saying they are improving on junk with more junk, or will they be a viable player on the low power/fairly performing systems?
Maybe it means an agreement for graphics on the Sparc servers/ workstations by Fujitsu.
