The next beta version of Microsoft’s operating system is expected in November. The new beta version of Vista will have its graphic component a little bit readier than before as it’s already time to start working on a user interface and the gaming part of the API.
as a previous windows user and beta of anything fantic. i will hafta give it a spin. though the odds of it making me want to run the final on my desktop are about ZERO. the last beta looked like XP Bloated Edition.
Very true. Perhaps after another couple years of development and code base reduction Vista will be “a little bit readier” but certainly not now. I’ve wasted enough time on Vista already and will most likely never ever touch it again.
Any logged user’s comments?

A good reason to wait:
1) How do you know that this image isn’t trojaned?
who cares if you run it in a virtual machine?
Also that image is not Beta 2, and is likely an interim build. There is no Beta 2 until MS signs off on a build meeting their goals for that milestone.
From what I remember; beta 2 will have the majority of features added to it, for testing. There will be some major changes in this release.
Now on a side note; all these new features are going to be system taxing. I cannot wait for the reviews.
Graphic companies have to start playing with Aero glass and all the other Mac OS looking visual effect features in Vista
Do they?
Why dont they just ignore it, what happens then.
What’s more interesting is the prize indication of the eventually released version.I think they have to considerably drop the prizes.
MS is just reusing old code from Windows 2003 Server with SP 1 and selling that with some fancy UI…wtf? so far this looks like a disaster to me. at least from someone who uses their brains a little point of view. i would rather run xp…and use linux…or mac os x for x86. the only way i see myself getting a copy of vista is because of next gen games and some next gen software…and if nLite comes out for Vista to strip it off of all bloat.
Stop reading slashdot and you might realize Vista is not Server 2003 with “some fancy UI”.
Breaking news: Paul Thurrot gets instant erection after hearing Vista Beta 2 is on the way!!!
Unusable comment, yes?
Does the beta version include an //s4 key too or just the full release? I wonder if they get a pretty login prompt.
Oh.
Wait.
Vista will be closed source, right?
Guess we’ll have to wait for freedom lovers to tell us.
The majority of computer users are stupid, mindless sheep.
They are the ones whose eyes will glaze over with delight when they fondle the next Wintendo offering in the stores.
They are the same who when asked what kind of computer they have respond “Windows”.
These are the people who are nothing more than virtual nipples to be milked for money and spread the dark philosophies coming from the Electronic Mordor.
Chains fall upon us all by the rule of big corporate devils because of the permissiveness of the mass public.
In time if this idiocy continues, all open source will be illegal at the whim of corporation number one with the votes in the politicians pockets.
Lovers of open source need to make their voices heard peacefully before it’s too late.
Open source hippies they call some of us, failing to realise that the hippy culture served to stir more action and thought than much of the current generations of pale skinned, overweight, ipod clutching couch lizards who whine if they’re not in an air conditioned environment and forced to walk further than a block for anything.
Attack my spelling, grammar, abuse of the Enter key, what have you, but you know deep down in your soul that I am right, and because of this you will either ignore this post, or attack it.
I agree totally with everything you said, thats why I gave you a +1
However, you should have registered, so at least we knew who you were.
When the mass doesn’t use the product you think they should, they are sheep.
XP was released in 2001… here we are almost 2006 and the desktop remains static, the areas that matter most spyware ridden and difficult to control.
Google Linux here we come.
Go waste your time trying to to get easy stuff to run on linux. Please just go away and I am being nice.
It’s every single day people have to put up with these morons. Every single day!
If you don’t like windows, run something else and quit your bitching, nobody else wants to hear you moan because linux won’t work with your printer.
STFU and use the OS of your choice. Nobody else cares about your OS choice either, get over it.
I usually don’t do this… but:
it can be downloaded from here: http://shurl.net/7Q
I’ll take this down in a while, so enjoy it while its up.
