In this article, Rickford Grant, author of “Linux Made Easy” introduces his book and explains the rationale behind it. Grant bases his assertion that “Linux is easy” on Xandros 3, generally considered one of the most user-friendly desktop Linux distributions. The book comes with a Xandros 3 CD.
This reads like a press release for the author’s book, and nothing more … is it really “OS news?”
It seems that Ubuntu is the big daddy in the category user-friendly. I think I’ll have to wait for the next edition…
Xandros is easier, Ubuntu is more free though
No linux distro is EASY. That’s just silly.
For a fairly new Linux user, Xandros 3.01 Deluxe was just fine. Except for the service pack two upgrade. That was a fiasco. Even after the corrected CD came out months later it took hours for the upgrade to finish.
The dialup utility sucks.

I beg to differ … http://www.linspire.com
Click-n-run just works. Blissfully easy.
… gen2 is easy, just read and follow the step by step guide..
anyways, someone should do a schweet sane basic gentoo install with knoppixish hardware automagic and a nice installer.. can’t believe it has still not happened yet, I might even do it myself
That’s what sucks with Linux (and I am a user). The other person’s choice of distro is unlikely to be yours and you are always making 90% of the potential audience upset that their distro was not considered/chosen for whatever you are talking about…
yea when CNR actually works… if you want to pay and pay and pay! They beat MS to the software subscription plan and people are lining up! Well a few anyway
